My name is Hannah Hernandez, I grew up in the Cabinet Resource Group family and have been nurtured with a deep rich environmental responsibility to defend the more than human world from exploitation so that many generations from now can enjoy the beauty and bounty of these wildlands.  In celebration of 50 years of conservation leadership and action the Cabinet Resource Group is collaborating with Eric Ian, film maker and photographer (https://www.erician.com/filmportfolio), to craft a twenty minute documentary film highlighting the foundational elements leading up to CRG's formation. 

 

Funds raised will be used for: pre-production story-planning, research, scheduling and logistics; production principal filming for 10 days across two trips; post production editing, revisions and review rounds, sound design, color; travel related expenses including fuel costs, time spent traveling, misc travel expenses; and music/footage licensing including access to higher quality music and stock licensing options (i.e., wildlife, if needed).

Why is it important to share this story now?  In the last five years many new residents have migrated to Lincoln and Sanders County, seeking solace in the remote wildlands from the urban sprawl and harried lifestyles. These new comers are unaware of the history, time and energy invested, and hard-won battles that protected the land they now call home.  They take the untouched beauty, abundant wildlife, and clean water for granted. The original members of CRG have weathered many conservation storms, bear the scars of defeat and victory, and carry with them sage wisdom on how to thrive over decades. In their twilight years, faced with the resurgence of mining interests and a changing cultural landscape, the stalwart warriors of CRG, seek to stoke the fire of responsibility and pass on their scrappy, creative, hard-won conservation ethos before the landscape changes.
